How to edit Beaver Builder pages

Instructions

  1. Login to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. On the left-hand side, select Pages.
  3. Hover over the relevant page you’d like to edit and select Beaver Builder. If you see the warning below, press cancel. This warning means that the page is not a Beaver Builder page, and the styling will be destroyed if you proceed.
  4. Alternatively, if you want to create a new Beaver Builder page, hover over the most similarly style page to the new one you want and select Duplicate. This ensures you don’t accidentally damage an existing page, and gives you a strong starting point for your new page.
  5. Within the Beaver Builder editor, hover over the specific section you’d like to update and select the Spanner icon.
    • If it’s text, something replace the wording. Be mindful of existing code.
    • If it’s an image, take note of the existing dimensions. You’ll be best served uploading a new image of the same dimensions, and make sure the file size is ideally under 150kb so you load speed isn’t impacted negatively. To replace the image, simply select Remove and then Upload your new image.
    • If it’s a video, simply paste your new link. We recommend YouTube or Vimeo. Make sure you read the instructions regarding valid URLs. If you want to customise the video thumbnail, select Thumbnail next to General. Under Thumbnail & Overlay, select Custom Thumbnail instead of Default Thumbnail. Upload the new image. If Custom Thumbnail is already selected, similarly remove the existing image and upload your preferred new image. Make sure you use the consistent dimensions and don’t exceed the 150kb file size.
    • If you want to change a form, you may see code like this: [ gravityform id=”5″ title=”false” description=”false” ajax=”true” ]. To change the form, simply identify the ID number of the new form you’d like to use and keep everything else the same. You can see each form’s ID in the Forms section of your WordPress dashboard on the left-hand side.
  6. Select Save once you make your changes.
  7. To make changes to an entire row, not just an element within a row, select the Spanner icon. To hide or unhide a row, navigate to Advanced and then select Display. Select Always to show it or Never to hide it.
    • If it’s a row with an orange border rather than blue, this means its a global row. If you select the Spanner icon, it will open in a new tab. Any change to this row will update across the site, meaning every page with this row will reflect the changes. If you don’t want to change the global row, but you do want the design element within the row, you can select the Duplicate icon on the right-hand side of the Spanner icon. This will create a version of the row that’s exclusively for the page you’re editing.
  8. Select Save once you make your changes.
  9. If an element or row has an eye icon in the top right-hand corner when you hover over it, this indicates that the element Display is set to Never and is not client-facing.
  10. When you’re finished with your edits, select Done the Publish in the top right-hand corner.
  11. To edit the page title and URL, select Pages on the left-hand side of your dashboard.
  12. Hover over the relevant page and select Edit.
  13. Update the title and slug (the end of the URL).
  14. Under Publish on the right-hand side, select Update, Publish, or Save Draft depending on your needs.
